Dancing Pictures At Newcastle
Posted by John Keatley | Filed under Reception Pictures
I have been putting together some new slide shows and wedding albums this past week, as I am gearing up for 2010 wedding meetings. Wow. 2010. That sounds crazy. This is one of the album spreads that I will be using, and I just had to post it. I re-arranged the spread to verticle so it would better fit this blog, but in the actual album it is two grids of 9 square pictures next to each other (square album). It was a fantastic wedding, and a beautiful album, so I will post the entire album soon. But for now, here are some serious dancing pictures. I don’t know what it was, but this reception was so much fun. It was also the only time I have ever laughed so hard at a reception that I cried. It’s one of those stories that needs to be told in person. But I did cry.

Adam and Dyanna’s Wedding At The Canal
Posted by John Keatley | Filed under Wedding Pictures
Just finishing up the pictures from Adam and Dyanna’s wedding which took place at The Canal in Seattle, Wa. Right next to the Ballard Locks. We did some portraits before the wedding at the Locks. What a great setting! Two pictures up, you will see an example of what might be the best way I have ever seen someone clean up a spilled drink. Put your foot on a towel, and keep dancing. The moonwalk works well, and allows your feet to maintain constant contact with the towel at all times. I would imagine that “Low” by T-Pain would also be a good song to clean up to. Especially if you are more coordinated with your hands than your feet.
I really like the custom cuff links which were given to each of the groomsmen as a gift from Adam before the wedding. I don’t think I have see that before. I gave the guys at my wedding a Huntsman Camouflage Swiss Army knife . It’s hard to think of something original and meaningful for the guys, but Adam pulled it off nicely!
Thanks so much for allowing me to photograph your wedding Adam and Dyanna! It was a beautiful day, and you were both so fun and easy to work with!

Tacoma Union Station Portrait

Josh and Melina Ott wedding portrait at Tacoma Union Station. Right next to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. This is one of my favorite wedding portraits. There is something timeless and very honest about it.

Wedding Reception Photo Booth
Posted by John Keatley | Filed under Photo Booth, Reception Pictures

That’s right, everybody wants a turn in the photo booth. There are so many amazing pictures from our last photo booth, here are just a few of them to hold you over until we can get them all edited and looking perfect. Can you tell that people got a little more comfortable and into it as the night went on? Regarding the brawl picture. Have no fear. No one was harmed in the creation of that picture.
Seriously though. This is such a fun thing to do at receptions and events. Even people who hate having their picture taken, end up coming over for at least a few shoots by the end of the night after they see how much fun everyone else is having. It’s a great way to get pictures of all of your guests, family and friends, and also a great thing to help keep people from standing around with nothing to do. The first few people who come through are usually a little shy, and then after that people really start to let loose.
We use the same equipment for the photo booth that we use when we are shooting for a major magazine or ad campaign. It’s first class treatment all the way!
